Biography
I have been a real estate agent since 1989, working part time in the evenings and weekends. I was a region training manager for a large food company for over 30 years. My broker/partner has been in the business in the East Bay Area since 1978 specializing in residential and foreclosure sales.
I moved to Oakley in 2000 and commuted to my corporate job for 5 years. I got tired of commuting, tired of the big company life. I quit my corporate job and started full time real estate in 2005. I opened my office in Bethel Island in 2006. My business specializes in REO - bank owned sales, working in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties with some listings in Solano County. I now work where I live, doing a job I love and, best of all - no commute!
My partner and I have 3 daughters and 7 grandkids. All three girls worked in real estate with us for a while - then moved on to develop their own careers. One is now in Mortgage Banking. One founded her own Company working with model homes. The third trained and worked as a Paramedic for over 10 years but has recently started working with us again! Grandchildren from 7 to 21 keep us busy and provide plenty of entertainment. It's great watching them grow up!
I became active in the Bethel Island Lions Club and Bethel Island Chamber of Commerce because I wanted to become involved with my community. I have served as President for the Lions Club and am Vice President of the Bethel Island Chamber of Commerce for 2009. I am also a member of the San Joaquin Yacht Club which raises money for Meals on Wheels through community involved events. No, I don't own a 'yacht', but I value all time spent on the water and in water-related activities.
I am a REALTOR which means I belong to my local real estate board - DAR - Delta Association of Realtors, CAR - California Association of Realtors and NAR - National Association of Realtors. I am currently working on earning three additional designations in real estate. GRI is a Graduate of REALTOR Institute which is intensive training in real estate fundamentals. CRS is Certified Residential Specialist - an even more extensive, more comprehensive series of courses. E-Pro is a designation that certifies me as an Internet Professional. These courses develop my skills as a real estate professional and insure my Sellers that I'm not just 'another agent' - I'm serious about the business.
Being considered a professional is important to me. Being a REALTOR is my life's work and I take pride in doing it well.
